Granny 1919-2016

Our dear, sweet Granny passed away on March 9, 2016. Don had a good visit with her on Sunday and they laughed and laughed. Then Tuesday she got really sick. We went to Texarkana to see her, and she passed away early Wednesday morning.

To say she will be missed puts it mildly. Our kids have mega love for their Granny, and part of me thinks it hasn't quite registered with them.

A few pics from her 95th birthday party. I thought I'd blogged about it, but as we can all agree I miss events. For this birthday we all met at Western Sizzlin' in Nashville. We had a great time and she had gotten all spruced up for the occasion.
Uncle Travis took this picture and mailed it to us. It cracks me up every time I see it.
We had visitation on March 11th, and after it was over our immediate family went to dinner together. It was a good time.
Aunt Bug came into town too, and as always the kids loved on her like crazy.
Sad times and good memories. Words fail me, but memories won't. We love Granny forever and always.

Avery's Birthday Party Fun!

Avery had her part at River City Gymnastics this year. She had the best time!
Friend pic!
They set up an obstacle course and all the kids loved that.
Final spot the played in was the pit. You could swing on the bar and drop in.
Also do the long trampoline and jump on the mat or in the pit.
A friend made the cake. It was just exactly what Avery wanted. So cute!
Happy Birthday!
After the party and friends were leaving she located the play table and it may have been her favorite part of the day. Horses!
Present time at home!
Granny made her an Anna shawl and hat. So cute and Kevin modeled for us.
Avery finally agreed to calm down long enough to try it on and let me take a picture.

Fun day and the ending of our hectic first part of the year birthdays.

Happy Birthday to Avery

I am mega behind on the blog so today I start catching up.

Our crazy, horse loving girl turned 4 on Feb. 2. It was a fun morning and she was super excited!
Birthday donuts of course.
Presents after school. Ross got her a basketball.
We got her some new princess slippers, a horse, and some "gymnastics clothes".
She had most fun with the sack. :D

Mrs. Tara got her this awesome HUGE horse, and even put a tutu on it.

She had a fun day for sure and was spoiled sufficiently.

Ross Sews Pajamas

Ross has been begging me to help him sew something, and a snow day was just the right time. He was really good. I did the hemming and making of the waist band, but he sewed them all together. He now wants to make Avery a pair.
Finished product.

Ross Turns 7!

And like a snap our boy turned 7! I just can't believe how time flies. People always warned me, but I didn't grasp it until I had kids. Per the usual, on his actual birthday we got donuts.
His birthday was on a Friday this year so Mam came up super early and put up birthday posters. He was so excited! He got that snazzy Stephen Curry jersey from us for his bday, and since they get an out of dress code day on their birthday that's what he chose to wear to school.
The next day we had his birthday. He choose the Little Rock Climbing Center. Everyone seemed to really have fun. I know the birthday boy did!
Ms. Anna Beth was quite the climber!
Josh too!
So many kids made it to the top of a lot of the walls.
A couple of videos.

For the big day he said he wanted a rock something for his cupcakes so it was decided on chocolate rocks. They turned out cute, and at first a few kids didn't want to eat them b/c the candy looks so much like real rocks.
He loves the attention. :)
Happy Birthday to Ross! "Eat More Chicken"
Best picture I got of all the friends that came to his party.
Once we got home he unwrapped gifts. As always Josh and Emma made him the best cards ever! He always loves getting them.
From Emma
A few other friends wrote him out cards too.
Such a fun day! I do hope both kids can look back fondly over their birthdays. We work to make each feel super special on their days, and I think they really enjoy it.

Christmas at Home

I did not get many pictures this year of opening presents. It was more fun to watch than to worry about pictures.

This is our gift from Ross. Super sweet note, and awesome gift that we will cherish always!
Rock'n Royal Barbie play time. This was the main thing Avery requested on her list.
Ross got busy digging for dino bones.
They also both loves the hair massager that Avery got Daddy. They walked around forever with hit on their heads.
Eventually they settled in with eating stocking snacks. No holds bar on Christmas Day. This was literally her dinner. Ross' was similar.
I did get a few videos of them opening.
I was going to take a video of Avery playing with her set, and I realized she was actually saying a prayer. It was so sweet.
