Breakfast with Santa

The weather cooperated and we made it to Breakfast with Santa again this year.
He arrived in the firetruck and brought Mrs. Claus!
Alex and company joined us this year. He even brought a picture so that Santa wouldn't get confused on what exactly he wanted.
He's explaining.
Ross loved Santa.
Avery did not.
After seeing Santa Ross made his annual call to the  North Pole.
Then it was time for breakfast and Avery chowed down on the bacon. Her Daddy was so proud.
Disastrous photo op.
Best we got.
They decorated an ornament. Definitely Avery's favorite thing of the morning.
As we were getting ready to leave Ross decided to get his face painted. He choose a candy cane.
Fun times. Happy kids. Happy family.

The Great Leaf Pile of 2014

The annual leaf pile happened a few weeks ago. Ross absolutely looks forward to the time when he can play in the leaves every single year. (in fact he got upset this week b/c we told him someone was coming to clean up all the leaves - tears may have been shed.)
Aves has taken quite the liking to the leaves as well.
In fact she wasn't a fan when we told her it was brother's turn.
Pure joy jumping into the pile of leave.
He loves playing in them so much.
...and so does this one now.
 Our sweet Daddy, the raker.

Holiday in the Heights

So this first picture isn't HH related but it was that morning and I wanted to document it. She got dressed so easily that day and looked cute in her MJ but when it came to shoes she was only having the Minnie slippers. I pick my battles so Minnie slippers were worn to church and she was ever the happy camper.
After nap time (and a shoe change) she and I went to Holiday in the Heights. Ross was home very sick so we thought it best to get her out of the house to let him rest quietly.

I thought our first stop should be Santa. She was having none of it. Poor Santa.
Our next stop was at Whippersnappers, a clothing store. Elsa and Anna were there. Of course Avery hopped right up to see them, unlike Santa.
She was BFF's with Anna.
They sang some songs and then gave them magic snowflake stamps. Avery absolutely loved it!

After that we walked around a while and tried to take a carriage ride, but she didn't last long in the line. We ended up at Cupcakes on Kavanaugh. I got 2 cake balls thinking one for her and one for me. She was not having any of it that either and I got one bite.
Just to make sure I didn't get another bite she kept them both safe in her little hands.
We got Dad and Ross a cake ball as well and shortly after headed home.

Ross Gets His Tonsils and Adenoids Out

(still playing blog post catch up) Ross had his tonsils out right after Thanksgiving and I totally forgot to blog about it. I use this as our family book so needed to go back in and add it.

Poor dude was so so not good when he woke up from anesthesia.
Once he finally calmed down and got some pain meds in him we were able to go home.
He slept off some anesthesia and then woke up to do some art projects that Mam got him.
The next day the poor guy just did not feel well at all.
Then bam the next day he sported his new Lego pajamas and was a new person.
We even got out of the house to run some errands and he got an Angry Birds Play-Doh set.
It was such a yo-yo 2 weeks. Before the end of the first week he was back down for the count.
The Sunday after his surgery was literally the worst. He cried and cried and cried. We called the doctor and he called in more medicine that helped a lot, though tasted terrible and it was not a fun experience to get Ross to take.
2 days later he was feeling better and we got out of the house for lunch.
At night we played at lot of card games.
Poppy kept him for us 2 days so we could go to work. He took him to paint pottery.
His awesome Sunday school class and teacher sent him a care package.
And here he is all well and back to 100%. That was not a fun experience but he is definitely better since having it.

Turkey Day parties

Both kids had parties at school for Thanksgiving. Grace did their usual Stone Soup lunch but we don't go until the kids are Juniors b/c of course they want to go home with you. Avery's class colored turkeys and said what they were thankful for. Keeping it real my precious girl said "Cinderella".
Sweet little Indian.
Ross' class sang a few songs at his party.
His name was Red Fox.
So much fun with the kids as they get older. Tons of parties at both schools. Not gonna lie - it'll be nice to have them at the same place and on same schedule next year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was a beautiful day. A little cool but we were able to play outside a little bit. The boys decided to attempt climbing the retaining wall at moms and was successful multiple times!
Ross is obsessed with pulling his eyes down.
Funny kids!
G on the bridge. He liked throwing sticks in the water.
Sweet cousins.
Silly girl posing. She LOVES her boots!
