Fall Fest at Papa and Granny's church

We went to Papa and Granny's church for their fall festival last week. They said it was a lot of fun and we all agreed it was definitely worth the drive. As soon as we got there Ross saw the 'train' and had to ride. Of course he got in the John Deere one. (He had snatched a piece of candy as well!)They took a long ride! He loved it!While Ross was riding the train I got to take a few pictures of Alex. He was a monkey and he wasn't too fond of the hood. We got him to leave it up for a second to get another picture. He won the frisbee in a game and held it about all night.Ross went fishing. After a while we made our way into the gym that was set up with big bouncy stuff. They boys only did one of them and it was a bouncy house at first and then you climbed up the ladder and would slide down. It went FAST and the boys loved it! Alex and his Daddy. Note the frisbee. So excited to ride again!
They wanted to go down alone. HILARIOUS! It went so fast I was afraid Alex was going to fly off. Uncle Kevin was always at the bottom to catch them. These aren't the clearest but Ross' face absolutely cracked me up. Each picture I took he had a crazy look but he absolutely had the best time and went down the slide over and over.
We finally got them out of the gym and Ross did trunk or treat. One car was also serving "hog juice" with the candy and that was a big hit. I managed a taste when Ross wasn't looking. It was good! After a rest we went back inside and they started sliding again. Finally we got Ross to sit down and give Daddy a rest. (It also just so happened that he twisted his ankle so he decided a piece of Laffy Taffy would help the pain.) Fun times and we'll definitely be back next year!

A Saturday Afternoon of Golf

On Saturday after the Razorbacks finished up a win we went to play 9 holes of golf. By "we" I mean Ross and Daddy and I went along to enjoy the weather and to take some pictures.
Ross drove the cart between holes. It was hilarious b/c he would just steer all over the place and pretty much look everywhere except at the direction we were headed. (Daddy helped)As soon as we got to the putting green Ross was out of the cart and headed for his turn.He immediately took the flag out and eventually got it on the ground. He had a slight issue getting it off his neck but he figured it out. :)Here he is showing me the line he uses on the putter to get the ball straight in the hole. We all got cherry limeades on the way to the course and I let him have our cherries. Those cherries = true love right there!Headed to another green with Daddy.Such a helper! He always wanted to carry the clubs back. They compromised and Ross carried two and Daddy carried one.

State Fair Fun

We went to the Fair on Monday and had a great time. First we went to see the animals and on our way we saw the John Deere tractors! Once we finished up there we were once again headed to see the animals and saw the milk truck! Yes this is a big thing for Ross. He and his Daddy see the milk truck most mornings making a delivery to Starbucks. They also got to talk to the bicycle cop. Finally made it to some animals. Baby chicks and a very hot Ross. It was quite warm on Monday.Newborn chicks! They were just hatching.Stinky piglets. Mommy couldn't stay here long but Ross could and did.An oldie but goodie at the fair. The baby ducks going down the slide!Once we finished up with the animals we went to ride some rides. Along the way Ross saw the electric bull and was quite enthralled. First he and Daddy rode the helicopter."That was fun Mommy!"Even more fun was Nemo! Choo-Choo train! He had the best time. He was showing me his tickets.Waiting on the banana ride to start. We wondered how he would do riding by himself this year and he did great! He was so sleepy by the time we left he was loony but of course he shed a few tears b/c he wasn't ready to go.
Action shot - it went way up high but this was the best one I got.

Harvest Festivals 2011

For two weekends in a row we went to a "Harvest Fest". The first one was at Wildwood. I give it a review of "blah" but Ross and Sam had a great time.

They did have an antique John Deere tractor to sit on so the boys were happy! Sam is 1.5 years old and so cute! They had model trains too. The boys also got Le Pops Gourmet Ice Lollies - strawberry banana. Ross wouldn't share but judging from these pictures they were quite tasty! It looks like a massacre! There was also hay to play on. He did not want to put down the flag.Getting ready to go on the hayride. Beau, Amy, and Sam.This past weekend we went to Hillcrest Harvest Fest. I give it 2 thumbs up!

They had baby pumpkins for the kids to paint. Ross had a great time doing that! He stayed there forever in serious concentration mode. You could also decorate your own cupcake or cookie. Ross choose a cupcake and had to eat it immediately after.Once we finished up walking through everything we found our Le Pops Gourmet Ice Lollies people again! This time Ross got a peach and I knew from experience he wouldn't share and I got a salted caramel one. DELISH! They are homemade locally and if you see them anywhere I highly recommend.Ross would enthusiastically agree!
