another general update

Ross got to see a family friend, Gage, on Friday. They were born on the same day. They weighed the same, and were almost the exact length. It was funny to hear them jabber to each other. I thought I got more pics but didn't. Gage got there later and Ross goes to bed with the chickens so it cut down on their play time. I snapped this of him taking his Sunday afternoon nap. He sleeps with the elephant, blanket, and a rabbit (underneath him) every night. The pillow is now a must too. Since he was a baby-baby his favorite 3 animals were blue bear, blue rabbit, and the elephant. Loves, loves them!!
He also loves, loves Barney! He'll play and play and then a part will come on that he likes and he'll pull up on the cabinet and watch it. Before I get responses about him being too close to the TV he doesn't do this ALL the time! Only special Barney scenes.

First Haircut

Ross and I went along for Dad to get a haircut yesterday. We've been talking about taking Ross for his first cut but since there were only a few hairs that needed to be trimmed we hadn't made it a priority. While we were there Michael said he'd trim up Ross' hair too.

First off let me just say Michael is a loon. He danced around and sang most of the time that he was cutting "Dad's" hair and Ross loved it.I'm not sure Ross has ever seen dance moves like that. :<) He'd hardly cut for posing for pictures.

A sick day

Ross got sick at school yesterday so they called and I had to go pick him up. He hasn't been sick one time since... However, he can't go back to school for 24 hrs so he had to miss school again today. First shift of the day his Dad took and the second shift his grandmother took. After his nap she loaded him up and took him for a stroller ride. Poor pitiful thing. Can't you see how sick that baby is??? The stroller ride ended at the park. Again, I'm sure it is all Ross can do to smile being as "sick" as he is. I don't know how he's able to swing. He's such a trooper. I guess our days of being "sick" and not being able to go to school have just begun. Oh I remember those days so well... Once he finished swinging he had to get a refreshment. A kid in this situation MUST keep up the fluids or they weaken. Oy vey!

Just a general update

Ross started swim class last week. He did well! He was a little nervous at first b/c it has been since last year for him to be in that much water but this past weekend he did great. He kicked, floated on his back, went under, and would even lunge for me to catch him from the side of the pool. He's growing up so fast! This was taken on our way to swim class. I looked back and he had pulled his hat way over his eyes. By the time I grabbed my camera he'd adjusted it a little.
His hair is looking redder by the day!! I hope it stays a strawberry blonde color. Some days I just don't know...

More please!

Ross' snacks are in a lower cabinet in the kitchen. Last night while I was doing a few things he decided that he needed a bedtime snack (obviously we haven't finished baby-proofing). I make what we call "baby trail mix". It varies each day but normally has about 4 different things in it, 2 healthy and 2 not so healthy. Just like trail mix. :) Currently one of the new items are the mini-cheese Ritz. Ross LOVES them. So this is what I found last night... As you can tell in the last picture he won and got a cracker. He worked so hard at getting the plastic package out how could I resist!

We weathered the storm

Well last night we had bad storms pass over so Ross and I had to get prepared. We decided which closet was the best option and got out the flashlights in case we lost power. He loved the flashlight. We had a strobe light fest going on. He was good company during the bad weather!

Dragon Shoes for the Little Prince

Ross also got some new Robeez that has a dragon on each one. They are so cute! Every time I saw him this morning and he was sitting he had his hand on a shoe. He was watching his second favorite show, Barney, so I couldn't even get him to look at me when I took the pictures.

Clapper

I'd forgotten that his Mam (grandmother) sent him a clapper until last night. I didn't know how well he'd do with it but he picked it up pretty quickly. He just couldn't quite focus because his favorite show was on... Wheel of Fortune!

correction: His Uncle Wayne sent him the clapper. Thanks UW! Obviously it is a hit!

Let me do it!

Ross wants to feed himself now. Though it isn't always the cleanest, it sure is funny to watch him try. Sometimes Mom has to help.
