Halloween 2015

Halloween was mega fun this year. Both kids were very much into it. Last year Avery wouldn't have a thing to do with it and all the costumes scared her. Full turnaround for this year.

She was Merida.
Ross was Luke Skywalker. He was determined to look serious in every pic.
He nailed it despite Merida rubbing her hair all over his face.
The hair had a mind of it's own. Getting a pic with her and the hair was no easy task.
Luke, me, and Merida's hair. Still serious Luke.
On Halloween night we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood, and also over to Mrs. Tamey's. The next night we went to Mom's church for their Fall Fest.

Merida wore her wig the whole way.
They had tons of stuff to do, but the favorite were the horse rides and the climbing tower (no pic). Our girl loves a horse, and Ross seems to like them fairly well too.
She even managed to get a 2nd ride with Gavin. Such a fun night!

Pumpkin Picking and Carving

Due to a crazy schedule we didn't make it to the pumpkin patch this year. So on Halloween-Eve we loaded up and went to Good Earth to pick out some pumpkins to carve.
They first had to play on the pirate ship.
...and check out the items in the store. Ross really wanted his pic made with the monkey.
Once we found our great selection of pumpkins we set off for home to remove seeds and carve.
Even Mam finally got in on the action. Pretty sure she said this was her first time carving a pumpkin!
Tongue out so it was serious.
We wrapped up the night playing with some foam and watching Hotel Transylvania.
Lame me didn't get pics of the pumpkins after carving. :(

There is always next year, which I know Daddy and Mam will be so excited about.

Happy Birthday Daddy! - just a wee bit late

I downloaded pics for Halloween and eek! I saw these birthday pics on here. I can't believe I'm late so late with this post.

This year I ended up having each kid on a random afternoon during the week and I was able to sneak them to Painted Pig to paint something for birthday gifts.

Ross did a jack-o-lantern, and we stuffed it with fresh toffee.
He also made a pirate shot glass, that we decided would make an excellent pen/pencil holder for Daddy's desk.
Blurry pic, but Avery painted him a leaf in her favorite color - purple.
Daddy enjoying his birthday song.
We picked up some cakeballs from Cupcakes on Kavanaugh for birthday breakfast.
Yum-o!

We believe Daddy had a pretty good birthday this year! I definitely feel confident that the kids enjoyed Dad's big day!

Day 4 and Headed Home

We did our annual shopping before heading home. Granny buys them new Crocs - note Avery's glittery pair. Then the kids always get to pick out on treat. Avery picked out these little figurines. Rule is if I buy it they carry their goods. Never any complaints.
Ross picked out Quixels.
Rounded out the morning with our annual horsey ride.
Throwback to last year.
Ross is always a stoic rider.
Such a fun trip and a week doesn't go by that Avery or Ross doesn't mention looking forward to next year.

Day 3 - Go Carts, Bungee Chairs, and Golfing

We started the day off just hanging around the house and playing. We also all took a much needed nap before we hit the strip for afternoon fun.
After naps we decided we would start with Go-Carts. Everyone was tall enough to ride the fast carts as passengers. The kids picked who the rode with and McKenna picked Uncle Kevin.
Aves picked Ms. Danielle.
Ross picked me.
Steve went solo, and still lost. WINK WINK
Ms. Danielle took this picture and said Avery absolutely loved it. This track has a big drop so I was worried when we hit it the first time, but word is she enjoyed every second.
Ross and McKenna were big enough to drive on the middle size track. It was the best! McKenna won hands down, and much like at Silver Dollar City it was a packed house with all carts out on the track.

Next while they rode bumper cars I played in the arcade with Avery.
After the bumper cars everyone played in the arcade. Steve may have hit this whack-a-frog so hard at one point a frog totally jumped all the way out.
With our tickets the kids each got disguises.
Next is the best thing to happen in all our years of going. Steve and Kevin did a bungee chair thing. HILARIOUS!
Seriously the best videos ever.
Ground view. You can hear their screams through the speakers.
After that we played mini-golf. Steve took pics of that, and I haven't received yet. I did get a funny video of Avery's "hole in one".
