Barnum & Bailey Circus

Well we went to the circus on Sunday afternoon. It has been years since I've been and I'm not sure if it was just this particular show theme or if they've changed that much but it was definitely not what I expected. Ross' main concerns were getting a snow cone and a sword. You'll note he got both so dude was a happy camper! Our seats were quite awesome - first row, center, on the floor.

We got clown noses!

I'm not really sure why though since this was the only clown we saw the entire show. :)

Camels and horses. They had the miniature ones and they are just too cute for words!

We had to work hard to keep Ross' attention so I'm sure Daddy was trying to point out something cool.

This guy was what I'd say one of the side shows would be at the fair. He was ridiculously strong. This kettle bell weighed 170 pds if I'm not mistaken. Pretty sure it was legit too b/c the floor shook when he dropped it.

Ok - this act was insane! He did a handstand on her torso! So glad I got a picture of it to help me feel inferior. ha!

Here she was leaned back and he was balancing on her legs. Can we talk about core strength?!? Ridiculous!

Someone offered to take our picture so for once we got all 3 of us in a photo. A fun Sunday afternoon!

Avery update

Avery is growing like a weed. She's almost 6 months! This is how she rides in her car seat! 99% of the time she's holding on to the sides. Even when she falls asleep she keeps a grip. No it isn't just with Mommy - so no bad driver comments please! :)

We also go the Jumperoo out for her and she kinda likes it. Not as big of a fan as Ross was but I think she'll get there. Ross didn't have as much entertainment so I think that's part of it. Avery really likes to be in the floor with her big brother.

She is rolling around like crazy all over the living room. She also is sitting up like a pro!

Ross absolutely loves to play in the backyard now! We have to go outside mostly in the morning and later in the evening b/c its so hot but at those times he's begging to go!

His favorite is when he's able to just go in his underwear. To quote Ross "let's run around in underwear". True boy!

He makes sure he plays all sports/ activities possible.

What's New with Avery

I finally got Avery out of the swaddle. She loved it but she was really getting too big for the Miracle Blanket. I wanted to get a picture to document her favorite sleep time position. Left leg had to be out! No matter what I did she would always work that left leg free so after a while I just started swaddling her leaving the leg out.

She's still very much so dependent on the sound machine right beside her head but she's getting better about staying asleep once I move it to the top of the crib.

She's started eating cereal now too. Sunday was her first taste and she loved it! She gets so excited when she sees the spoon.

Ruffle butt! Sister Sue has thighs of a 6 month old and the body of a 3 month old. The thighs are quite kissable - as are her cheeks! I have the hardest problem finding bloomers that will fit b/c the ones that come with the outfits cut into her sweet little rolls. 6 month outfits are still huge though. I will have to order separates.

Sea Urchin

At school they studied the ocean and made a sea urchin. Well he wanted to make one at home too. Luckily for Ross his Mommy is always prepared. A good mommy always has Play-Doh and pipe cleaners on hand. :<)

We have a lot of fun doing little projects like this only now instead of them being my ideas often he comes up with the projects now too! 

Jackson the baby deer

My mom has a friend that is raising a baby deer so she set it up for the boys to get some pictures made. The deer's name is Jackson. He loved Ross' shirt!  Ross looks more and more like a little boy in pictures. He's growing up so fast!

Alex wasn't very interested in Jackson but we finally got him over there with Ross to get a picture. After that he warmed up to him.

I think the pictures turned out great and can't wait to see the others.

Sweet Big Brother Ross

The other morning Avery was quite angry (she woke up at 4:30 an needed a nap). Ross thought sharing all his favorite toys would help her be happy. So when I went to see what all he'd given her I found Woody, Jesse, his little blanket, and his crown. He was in the process of trying to put Buzz in the swing too but I explained that was a bit much.

Once he saw her chewing on Woody's hat he was none too happy and took it from her.

He did leave everything else and luckily didn't see her sucking on Woody's head. :)
