Christmas at Home

Not a ton of pics b/c they ran in the house and excitedly started looking at the gifts. I did manage to make them take a second and get their stockings. Insert the next two pictures. Every time Avery would get in trouble she'd cry and say, "I know, now all I'll get is coal." So, I found her some coal. She didn't find Santa amusing one bit.
Boss got an R2D2 droid. We built it the next day. It is cool. You control it via an app on a smartphone.
The huge thing Avery asked for was a Barbie camper. She was mega excited.
Padre got a golf mat so they also had fun doing some putting on Christmas night.
Still going strong playing with the camper.
I got a balance board for Christmas. The kids love it too.
The next day. Kitty played too.
This year we made some cookies to give teachers and friends. I love when they sign the labels. Ross signed just his name. Avery went a bit more with her signatures. Avery Martin. 5. 8. (their ages)
Avery got me this for Christmas. Some hot lip color and purple gloss. Yes, I've worn both. It was bright and I was paranoid. The purple gloss toned it down a bit though. :D

A Grady Christmas

We arrived and this is the first thing they did! Uncle Steve is mucho fun!
Up next was the traditional making of the monkey bread.
Fast forward to Christmas morning. I guess we had a lot of fun b/c I don't really have any pictures.
Miss Priss got new heels and basically her Christmas was made. She wears them all the time.

Christmas Eve at Mam's

We did the annual get gas with Dad on Christmas Eve so I could set up Santa.
Then we took our annual family selfie where Dad cut off faces and such. :)
Once at Mam's the fun began with the cousins. Somehow they talked Avery into rubbing their full bellies.
Then we opened presents. Each family got a virtual Star Wars game. It is super cool!
A few family pics.
Always a great time to spend together!

Christmas Eve Morning

R-O-S-S brought his traditional Christmas Eve breakfast, along with ornaments and his letter lifting the magic.
As always the kids love when they can play with R-O-S-S.
She requested a pic with R-O-S-S and the nativity.
This year's Christmas lists. I love these ornaments. Every year we talk about the changes in their lists as they've gotten older.

Visit with Santa

This year we tried a new Santa visit. We went to Painting with a Twist and there Santa was waiting in his big fluffy chair. He read Twas the Night Before Christmas. Then they sang a few songs, and the kids were able to have a great visit with him.

Avery always said, from the start of the Christmas season, that she wanted a Barbie camper.
Ross is getting so big! I'm also sad to report that this year he found out the truth about Santa. He was sad at first, and then he realized it was fun that he can be Santa to people too.
Up next was painting an ornament. I love homemade ornaments so I was especially excited for this part.
Finished product.
Elle and Tucker were there too!
I love all our activities, but especially the ones we do around Christmas.

School Christmas Programs

The Christmas programs did not disappoint this year. Avery was the star. She asked me to take her picture before the program started. This is how I thought she was going to hold the star.
Then she came out and it was actually held like below. The star was heavy! Before long all you could see was the tip of her nose sticking out. Cracked us up!! I will never go tired of looking at these pictures.
Boss had a part and also a solo. He was very excited and did great!

Christmas Parties

This year around Christmas time  Avery's class talked about thoughtful homemade gifts are very special compared to store bought gifts. Ms. Wise asked the kids to make homemade gifts for their classmates. I was not feeling it, but Avery was mega excited. We decided to make cookies (honestly b/c I thought that was the easiest). She was full on the person that did the work and had a great time with the sprinkles.

Then she made gift tags for each kid.

I think they turned out so cute!
Party day arrived and she had made us a gift. She was oh so excited about it!

The kids colored the boxes that are gifts were in. I loved that idea too!
Ross's party was the same day.
His class made up a new 12 Days of Christmas and performed for the parents.
They also recited the Christmas story from Luke. It was so good! He has learned so much Bible this year. Not just verses, but information that he loves to tell us about.
