Golf Classes at First Tee

Ross has started taking golf classes on Saturday morning and loves it. After playing a round with his Daddy yesterday I'm told there is a huge difference in Ross' golf game. :o)
Looks like a beautiful swing to me!
The first day of class I had some peanut butter crackers for him and now he thinks he is supposed to eat his morning snack out on the golf course. This past week I left the snack in the car and he was quite put out. Pros are so temperamental!
One of the many instructors helping Ross out. For some reason Ross referred to him as Uncle 'X' for like a week. I can't remember his name to save my life.
A main thing Ross is supposed to be working on is how he stands - feet shoulder width apart.
After struggling to do it Uncle X put tees in front of Ross' feet and told him to put his toes up against them before each swing. Ross wasn't much a fan of proper standing form. Doesn't he look like such a big boy?!?
Daddy is a good caddy. He sets the ball up on the tees for Ross before each hit and carries his clubs.
I'm there to take pictures and hold Avery. Most of the pictures will be from this angle and view point b/c I'm sitting on the grass with Ms. A in my lap.

Practicing Letters

Now that Ross is in the Junior class each morning at school he has to write(trace) his name. He loves to practice at home. (tongue is out in full concentration mode)
He is pretty good at it but gets extremely upset if he doesn't get it traced just the way he wants it.
I helped him write a few other words that he chose - Razorback, Football, Dude, and we were working on Giraffe when he decided he wanted to just type on the computer.
Have you noticed yet that his shirt is on backwards? From time to time he insists that his t-shirts be put on backwards. Always, always when he has on the monkey t-shirt and usually with his Razorback t-shirt.

Baby Dedication pictures

We had baby dedication this past Sunday at church. Since we were still looking for a new church when we had Ross we never did this with him so it was special to have both kids dedicated together.

They asked for pictures of the kids so they could put them on the screen. This is the first picture I took. I wasn't sure if I'd have much luck. :o)
This was what I ended up with and no I didn't threaten or offer a treat - he just decided to give me a good smile. Oh this was also at 6:40 one morning before I went to work.
I also thought it would be cute to have one of them together and Ross really wanted to hold Avery so it worked out well. Though again - you can see what I was working with. :o)

I actually really love this picture. It cracks me up and shows so much of his personality (in my opinion).
He absolutely adores Avery. He can't keep his hands off her.
Success!

Time to Farm!

On Labor Day we went to cut corn with Poppy. It was Avery's first time on the combine! She did much better than her brother did (below) for her photo op with Poppy.
She's always grinning and happy!
Ross was prepared for the mud! Those fireman boots from his costume last year have gotten much use! Ross looks forward to the rain b/c he knows he can wear his boots that day and jump in the puddles.

The picture above was of me and Ross in October of 2009 and below almost 3 years later! He's growing up so fast! Seems like yesterday we were on our first ride.
Avery loved it! She mainly stared out the window at the header cutting the corn.
Her view.
Ross is so helpful (like it or not) in getting her to pose for pictures.

Self portrait. He's pretty good at it.
Cutting corn is hard work on a baby. She was quite ready for a nap.
Uncle Kev and Daddy rode the tractor. This is always a favorite part for Ross to watch.
See I said he's always so helpful for pictures. :)
Seems it is a favorite of Avery to watch the off load for corn to the tractor also.
She really liked it. I couldn't get her attention for anything to take a picture. Ross didn't offer his services this time either.
Once we got Avery to Granny for a nap Ross got on the tractor with me and Uncle Kevin. He loves riding with Kev b/c he lets him play with the gears.
After a few off-loads it was time to head to the house and I thought let Ross take a nap - that didn't happen. We waited while Daddy got off the combine so Ross posed for a few pictures.
It was super hot on Monday but it was such a pretty day!

We had a great time cutting corn. Our first and last time of the season. Ross was quite happy he got to do it and he now has plans for a certain backhoe.

Ross the Artist

Often after school Ross also likes to paint. This particular day he was painting a snake and then he says "hey look at my hand print" and this is what I found. (Avery is in the background sound asleep.)
He wanted to give me a close up. Avery has no idea how much she misses during her little naps.
