St Louis 2015 - Day 1

Vacation started with the boys going to a Cubs/Cardinals game. It was by far the most beautiful day we had on vacation.

I'm going to bet that is a hot dog in the boy's mouth.

Not to my surprise Ross did not make it the entire game. Not going to say I told you so, but... 
I got him from the game when McKenna and Ms. Danielle arrived and we went to Grant's Farm.

It was so much fun! We rode a tram to the back side of the farm and there was so much to do! First off the kids rode the carousel, but no pics of that.

Next, they got to feed the baby goats. 

Ross and McKenna seemed to really enjoy it.

He mastered the art of feeding two at a time. He will make a good daddy one day. 

Aves enjoyed it as long as she was on the other side of the fence.

Boss also did a little grooming to the goats. They liked getting brushed.

Up next was some pony riding. Avery was Over.The.Moon! 

Camel rides too!

Snow cones were last. M got a strawberry that dyed her mouth blood red.

After that we went swimming. No pics but when I asked Ross what his favorite part of day 1 was he said swimming! By the time we got to bed everyone was mega exhausted. It was a good day!

Swimming Lessons

The kids started swim lessons up again this year. Both LOVE it and no tears shed this year.

After their first lesson, and despite the look they had fun.

A few videos. Ross has come a long way from last year and even from his first lesson this year to where his level is currently. It's been so great to watch his progression. Avery still likes to sit on the step. 

Day 3 and 4

We went to Six Flags on Saturday, along with pretty much all of Texas. It was crazy crowded, and got pretty hot. Bugs Bunny was a nice distraction from having to wait in line to get into the park. 

Silvester was pretty good too. Aves was a fan of neither. 

First stop was the carousel. We rode this quite a few times. 1) b/c the line moved fast. 2) It is by far Avery's favorite ride.

Though you can't tell it in this picture. 

One of the next things we rode was the antique cars. They've had these forever and they are so fun. Of course Ross was our chauffeur. 

Next we rode the train. It went around the park and you could ride as much as you wanted without getting off. 

Back to the cars. This time Ross drove me and Daddy and Avery rode together. 

Blurry pic but so funny! He was hardcore serious about it for a while. He said, "wow this is a lot more tough than I thought."

We did manage a selfie while he was driving. 

Tested out his muscles and won a superhero cape. 

Avery picked out a super hero cape as her treat for the day. She wanted purple and we actually managed to find purple. 

Next day we packed up and had to head home. Such a fun little vacation and Uncle De was sweet enough to have us stay at his place. This was our good-bye picture we sent him. 

Spring Break to Dallas- Day 1 and 2

We started off our trip with breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Ross' choice and the kids like it so fine by me.

A good game took place while we waited for our food. 

Our first stop when we hit Dallas area was to see Aunt Bug. She lives close to a park so we walked there to let the kids get out some energy and then we went to eat dinner. 

The next day we got up and went to the Arlington Zoo.

Of course the first thing we did was ride the train. 

Next, because of course it was right as you got off the train, we rode the carousel. 

Finally we checked out the animals.

They loved feeding the ducks.

 The monkeys were out in full attendance. 

After the zoo we went to the Galleria for dinner and let the kids watch the ice skating for a little while. The restaurant had these cool things for the kids instead of the typical crayons and coloring sheet. They definitely kept their attention a lot better. 

Big Girl Bed

Avery is officially in her big girl bed now. We had a hiccup with the headboard but that's been replaced and now she's totally set. (I need to get a pic of it with new headboard.)

This is the first night. She was, shockingly, excited about the whole process. She jumped up on the bed and was ready to read the books.

Night #2 went equally as well. I got her a new pair of pajamas and a new book for a treat since she did so well. We also painted her fingernails since she's such a big girl now.

Up next we need to tackle potty training. So far that is a no-go.
