McKenna and her family came down to close on their Arkansas house. That meant fun for us! We had plans to go to the pool but it seemed like a storm was coming so we had to stay at home and play in the sprinkler and with water guns.
They didn't complain much and took no mercy on us!
Trying to get them to actually let me take a picture without the possibility of being sprayed in my face.
No mercy - direct hit.
I love it when he and M get to see each other. They pick up like they've never been away.
I finally remembered to take their last day of school comparison pictures. They have both changed so much over the school year! Ross wasn't quite in the mood for it. Oh how I miss the days when he didn't mind me "taking him a picture".
There we go - much better. Our next picture he'll be a Senior!
I remember this day so well. He was beyond excited to be a Junior!!
Love bed head!
Our sweet baby girl! She loves her big baby. She calls her "da-dy"
We had a great 4th of July this year! We had a quiet day around the house and then we went to a party that night! There was a great kids area set up with water guns, golf clubs, tattoos, baseball... Ross loved it!
He had a great time with the water guns.
Of course he had to try out the golf clubs. The house was right on the Pleasant Valley golf course so we just walked a few feet to the course and he practiced away - mostly in the sand. He said he needed the practice. :)
Then he played ball with Anna Beth and Mr. Alan. All his favorite things in the same night!
Once it got dark we watched the fireworks on the golf course with some friends.
Since we got home so late on the 4th Ross didn't get to do his sparklers so he did them on the 5th.
He went through about 6-7 sparklers, and wasn't happy when he realized he was out.
Fun times and a first for Ross with the sparklers.
Father's Day was great this year, like always. Ross picked his Dad out the traditional tie and we also got him some new shirts. Ross even got a coordinating one and was super excited! He loves matching his Daddy.
Silly face!
Non-silly and no sunglasses on the head. :)
In comes Avery, who only cared about playing.
No arms flailing. No crying. Kinda looking at the camera. Win!
After our Father's Day pictures and gift giving we headed to Grady. I think Avery immediately got on the horse. This horse is really old! Seems like my Dad played on it. I know Uncle Kevin did so it is at least 21 yrs old but I know it is much older than that. Good horse has been around the block!
At least this time Avery was ok with sitting in a lap only I couldn't get her to look at the camera to save my life.
Great-Grandad, Poppie and the kids. We'll need the bigger couch once Amanda are there and now Lexie has had the new baby, Gavin.
Such a great day and every time we get together with the great-grandparents I just am so happy they've got to experience us all having kids too.
Avery has started Little Gym on Saturday mornings. She loves it! From the very first day she's not been shy or afraid and has ran around trying everything.
She looks like a total pro to me!
She obviously needed a break.
Always a crowd favorite - the balls and bubbles!
So much fun to go through some of the same things with her that we did with Ross. It definitely shows a difference in their personality. She's not afraid of anything and Ross was just the opposite.
Ross and I went to Funland with some friends and he had such a great time! He loved riding the cars - he really loved riding everything though. :)
Emma and Ross ended up on quite a few rides together. As it turns out Josh is a bit afraid of heights.
Back on the car ride but this time the motorcycles. They did the full handlebar lean the whole time.
Caroline and Emily was there with us too. This ride spun in cirlces but you could also spin the middle part and your car with go in even more circles. Makes me sick to even think about attempting to ride it.
Roller coaster fun!
We decided to have a snack and while doing so they found the water mister.
Much fun! We followed it up with pizza at U.S. Pizza. Can't beat that in the life of a 4 yr old.
Brad caught this great video of the kids and if you watch closely around the 20 second mark Ross kisses Josh. I just love it. They are truly good friends. You can also hear them yelling "Boo! Cardinals" to Brad as they spin by him. They did that a lot that day.
