What the What? Easter a few months late

I downloaded some pictures off my camera and it made me realize I never did post about Easter. Shame on me!

We did our annual making of the resurrection rolls. Always so fun.
This year Ross even helped put the marshmallows in the rolls.
The look given when the goods have finished baking.
They never last long.
The day before the kids planted 'sucker seeds'. This was so fun. They tossed out jellybeans and then later that night I went out and picked up most of the beans and left suckers in their place.
We had Brent and family over for Easter fun and the kids hunted eggs and had lunch. We had such a good time I didn't get any pictures.
Easter morning and baskets were ready.
Kids were quite excited.
We have fun, but we also work hard to remind the kids why we celebrate Easter. This was a fun thing I saw on Facebook. We had it for breakfast. Donuts and donut holes.
All dressed and ready for church. I made her dress again this year and she was quite the fan.

St Louis - Day 3

On Day 3 while at breakfast it became obvious that Avery had met her limit of missing naps so she didn't get to join us at Magic House. It was so much fun! I hated she missed it.

There were all sorts of things for the kids to do. There was a 'construction zone'.
In that area there was a place to dig. It was quite popular.
Ross built a birdhouse.
There was a fun pin wall. Ross' face is on the right. We played there for a while.
Oh this was a fun spot too. All those holes had a different sports ball in them. So you felt it and tried to guess which ball it was.
Probably our favorite room was the bubble room. They had air going out of this tube and we were able to make pretty big bubbles with it.
Some bubble room videos.
Meanwhile, once Avery had a nice long nap she and Daddy took a carriage ride.
After all that we met back up and checked out the Arch.
Going up!
We actually didn't think Avery would go b/c she always kind of freaked out when we spoke about it. Girl was a trooper though and once we got up climbed right up to look out the windows.
View from the top.
Going back down and still grinning, even in that tight enclosed capsule ride.
We caught a carriage ride from the Arch back to our hotel. Ross was the only one that hadn't gotten to ride one yet.
After each ride the lady said her horse, Elmo, gets a carrot. She let the kids feed him.
Posing with Elmo.
They were a bit apprehensive on feeding him the carrots.

St Louis - Day 2

EEK! I thought I'd already updated from our vacation. Once again woefully behind.

On Day 2 we went to City Museum. Absolutely nothing like I expected since it is called a 'museum'. I knew there would be things to play on and climb, but had it pictures more like a usual children's museum. NO. Nothing like it. This place was insane and the kids loved it.

They helped big kids build a giant Lego house.
Aves was a bit small to do some of the climbing stuff so she took a break and made a clay plate of sorts. Ross and McKenna made one later too. Aves loved doing this project.
This is an example of the climbing options. There were hundreds of places to enter into random climbing trails.
Poor girl couldn't hang with the bigs for the entire day. She ended up taking a short nap. I still don't know how she did it in that noisy place.
A couple of videos from the museum. I'd forgotten how much Avery screamed. She loved it b/c she could scream at the top of her lungs and never get in trouble. I think this was Ross' favorite room too out of all of them.

St Louis 2015 - Day 1

Vacation started with the boys going to a Cubs/Cardinals game. It was by far the most beautiful day we had on vacation.
I'm going to bet that is a hot dog in the boy's mouth.
Pregame photo op.
Not to my surprise Ross did not make it the entire game. Not going to say I told you so, but...
I got him from the game when McKenna and Ms. Danielle arrived and we went to Grant's Farm.
It was so much fun! We rode a tram to the back side of the farm and there was so much to do! First off the kids rode the carousel, but no pics of that.

Next, they got to feed the baby goats.
Ross and McKenna seemed to really enjoy it.
He mastered the art of feeding two at a time. He will make a good daddy one day.
Aves enjoyed it as long as she was on the other side of the fence.
Boss also did a little grooming to the goats. They liked getting brushed.
Up next was some pony riding. Avery was Over.The.Moon!
Camel rides too!
Snow cones were last. M got a strawberry that dyed her mouth blood red.
After that we went swimming. No pics but when I asked Ross what his favorite part of day 1 was he said swimming! By the time we got to bed everyone was mega exhausted. It was a good day!

Swimming Lessons

The kids started swim lessons up again this year. Both LOVE it and no tears shed this year.
After their first lesson, and despite the look they had fun.
A few videos. Ross has come a long way from last year and even from his first lesson this year to where his level is currently. It's been so great to watch his progression. Avery still likes to sit on the step.
